Electrical Compliance Testing in Kyabram

Your leads, tools, appliances and safety switches tested on one visit, with one register to show for it. For Kyabram workplaces, farms, schools and clubs.

One visit, one set of records

Electrical compliance on most sites is split in two: the test and tag on portable gear, and the RCDs that protect the circuits it plugs into. When they are done at different times by different people, the records end up in different places, and one of them usually lapses.

Because we are based in Kyabram, we do both on the same visit. Appliances and leads are tested to AS/NZS 3760, every RCD is push-button and trip-time tested, and the results go into one register and report. We remind you before each part is due again.

What a Compliance Visit Covers

Appliances, leads and RCDs tested together, so your electrical records live in one place instead of three.

Test and tag

Every portable appliance, lead and power board inspected and tested to AS/NZS 3760, then tagged with its next due date.

RCD testing

Switchboard and portable RCDs push-button tested and trip-time tested, with each result recorded.

Equipment register

A list of every item tested, where it lives, its result and when it is next due. New gear is added as it arrives.

Faults on the day

Failed items are tagged out of service and taken out of use. We point out other electrical risks we see while on site.

Written report

One report covering appliances and RCDs, ready for an insurer, auditor or WorkSafe inspector.

Reminders

We keep track of when each part of your site is next due and get in touch before it lapses.

How Often Sites Are Tested

AS/NZS 3760 sets intervals by environment. A site with an office and a workshop may need two different intervals, and we split the schedule so you are not paying to test everything early.

  1. Every three months

    Construction sites and hire equipment.

  2. Every six to twelve months

Workshops, factories, farms and other tough environments, plus RCD trip-time tests in most workplaces.

  3. Up to five years

Low-risk office equipment that stays in one place.

Between Visits

Keep your register accurate and your gear safe between compliance visits.

  • Add new equipment to your register when it arrives, and keep it for the next visit.
  • Pull anything with an expired or missing tag out of use until it is tested.
  • Press the RCD test buttons on your switchboard as part of your regular checks.
  • Report damaged cords, plugs and power boards straight away rather than waiting for the next test.

Electrical compliance testing FAQs

Common questions from Kyabram sites. Anything else, just ask.

What does an electrical compliance visit cover in Kyabram?

Test and tag of your portable appliances, tools and leads, and testing of your switchboard and portable RCDs. You get one register and one report covering both, with anything that failed listed so you can act on it.

Do farms and sheds around Kyabram need electrical compliance testing?

If the shed, dairy or workshop is a workplace, yes. Gear in those spots takes a beating and is often used around water, so testing tends to be more frequent than in an office. We will tell you the right interval for your site.

What is electrical compliance testing?

It is the testing a workplace needs to show it is managing electrical risk: test and tag of portable equipment, RCD testing, and a register and report that records the results. We do all three in one visit.

Do you do fixed wiring or switchboard repairs?

No. We test and tag portable equipment and test RCDs. If we find a problem with fixed wiring or a switchboard RCD that needs replacing, we will tell you so a licensed electrician can fix it.

What records will I get?

A register of every item tested with its result and next due date, the RCD trip times, and a written report. It is the paperwork an insurer or auditor will ask for.

Can you add fire equipment and first aid to the visit?

Yes. Many sites have us do extinguishers, emergency lighting and first aid kits on the same visit, so all their safety records come from one place.
