About us
AmbaGuard is a family owned safety services business based in Kyabram, run by Paul and Melissa Mennen. We look after fire safety, electrical testing and first aid for workplaces and homes across regional Victoria and Southern NSW.
Safety gear is easy to forget about. Extinguishers sit on the wall, kits sit in the ute and exit lights sit on the ceiling, and it is usually not until something goes wrong that anyone checks them. We would rather find the flat extinguisher or the RCD that does not trip on a routine visit than after an incident.
So we work proactively. We test what is on the job sheet, point out what is not, and remind you before anything falls due. Whether it is your staff, your customers, or the kids and residents in your care, the aim is the same: everyone goes home safe.
Paul and Melissa have worked in the safety industry since 2013. For years that was as part of a franchise, and the franchise limited how far they could go for their clients.
Starting AmbaGuard meant they could offer more services, assess sites more thoroughly and run things their way: turn up when they said they would, explain what they found, and keep the reminders coming. Hundreds of workplaces later, that is still how it works.

Director and Technician
Paul does the site visits. He has worked in safety servicing since 2013 and makes sure every extinguisher, light, lead and kit is checked properly so everyone goes home safe. Off the clock he is riding his motorbike, camping or with the family.
Administration and Accounts
Melissa runs bookings, reports, reminders and accounts, with more than 13 years in administration behind her. She is the reason your next service is booked before it falls due. In her spare time she rides her horse and spends time with family.
Administration Assistant and Social Media
Eleanor supports the office and looks after our social media. She is a virtual executive assistant with more than six years of experience in administration, digital marketing and business support.
We arrive at the booked time. If we are running late, you get a call from us before you have to chase it up.
Every visit is documented against the Australian Standards, ready for your insurer, auditor or accreditation body.
We track your service dates and contact you ahead of time, so tags, lights and kits never quietly lapse.
While on site we flag safety gear that may not be compliant, even when it was not on the job sheet.
Paul has worked in the safety industry since 2013. AmbaGuard is the business he and Melissa built to give regional workplaces a better level of service.
