- Keep hose reels, extinguishers and blankets clear. No pallets, bins or stock in front of them.
- Never use a hose reel for cleaning or watering. It wears the hose and can leave it kinked.
- Replace a fire blanket as soon as it has been pulled, even if it looks fine.
- Walk new staff past the equipment in their first week so they know where it is.

Book a serviceDo you come to Bendigo regularly?

Can you take over fire equipment servicing from another provider?
Yes. Send us your last report if you have it. We pick up the existing service dates, check every item on our first visit and carry on the six-monthly cycle from there.
What fire safety equipment does my workplace need?
It depends on the building and what could catch fire inside it. Extinguisher type and placement follow AS 2444, and some buildings also need hose reels. We walk the site, tell you what is missing and quote before supplying anything.
Do you supply and install fire equipment?
Yes. We supply, mount and service FlameStop fire extinguishers, hose reels and fire blankets, so one business handles the gear from install through to every service after it.
How often do hose reels and fire blankets need servicing?
Under AS 1851-2012, fire hose reels and fire blankets are serviced every six months, the same as portable extinguishers. We do all three on the one visit.
Can a fire blanket be reused?
No. Fire blankets are single use. Once one has been pulled from its case it should be thrown out and replaced, even if it was not used on a fire.
